How to develop your "Clairs". Unlocking your intuitive gifts

Published on 29 April 2025 at 20:27

We are all born with intuitive "gifts".  They are more "abilities" than "gifts" I would say.  It's only a matter of  learning how to listen.  Whether you are only beginning to explore your psychic potential or are looking to deepen your connection to Spirit, learning to develop your "Clairs" is a beautiful and powerful step on your journey.

The "CLairs" are intuitive senses that go beyond the physical.  Everyone has intuitive senses - it's not just for "special" people.  Every person has a natural affinity for one or more of these psychic channels.  With that said, one can definitely develop and /or strengthen them with practice and awareness.  But how does one do that?

Let's start from the beginning.  What are the "Clairs"?   Clairs are different ways we receive intuitive or spiritual information.  There are 6 "Clairs."

1. Clairvoyance (clear seeing):  Receiving images, symbols  or visions in the mind's eye

2. Clairaudience (clear hearing): Hearing intuitive messages or spirit voices internally and/or externally.

3. Clairsentience ( clear feeling): Sensing other people's emotions, or sensing energies and sensations connected to other                                                           people or places or spirits

4. Claircognizance (Clear knowing): Having knowledge of something without logic or  having sudden insight

5. Clairalience (Clear smelling): Smelling scents connected to Spirit (perfumes or cigar smoke)

6. Clairgustance (Clear tasting): Having the taste of something without its physical presence (connected to Spirit

The last two Clairs are very uncommon.  Therefore, we will discuss how to develop the most common clairs (seeing & hearing, feeling )

Before you can really even start to practice, learning to quiet your mind is key.  Practice meditation on a daily basis.  Sit in silence and just concentrate on your breath.  This way you are ignoring your thoughts and learning to quiet you mind.

In addition to meditation, an important practice is journaling.  Everyday, try to journal and write down your thoughts and feelings.  By getting it all down on paper, you are actually clearing you mind.  With these two practices you make space in your mind to notice other senses.

Clairvoyance:  sit quietly in silence with your eyes closed and try to visualize a person place or thing in detail.  The imagination is a very important element in deepening your clairvoyance.  Another fun practice is entering a room and looking around and trying to imagine the interior decoration in different colors or placement.  This too is an excellent excercise.

Clairaudience:  Try listening to music but focus on a single instrument and the sound it makes.  Otherwise, you can sit in silence with your eyes closed and try to focus on subtle sounds that we normally dismiss.  For example, the humming of the refridgerator, the sound of traffic outside, the ticking of the clock.  You get the point - right?

Clairsentience:  Pay attention to how you feel when you are around different people.  Otherwise, as you sit, try to focus on the feeling of your shoes on your feet.  If you are walking on sand, try to focus on the feeling of the sand under your feet.  So the idea really is to just focus on the physical feelings you experience doing different activities.

Claircognizance:  Practice "automatic writing".  Just ask yourself a question and just start writing.  Just write and often after writing some rambling thoughts - you actually get back to the question and answer it.

Lastly, TRUST YOURSELF.

Developing your "Clairs" is not about being special - rather remembering who you are on the soul level.

Whether you are just starting your journey, or deepening your understanding of your intuition, trust the process, be kind to yourself and HAVE FUN!
